Shamrocks and Corned Beef!

St Patrick's Day is just around the corner and what better way to celebrate with your family and friends than a traditional meal of Corned Beef and Cabbage!  So grab your apron and let us turn now to our 1958 CookIndex recipe box...

Now that the main course is taken care of it's time to get dolled up!  Grab your kelly green sheath dress, touch up your pearlescent coral lipstick, and add a brooch to top off the look!  Might I suggest this lovely shamrock-inspired brooch which is featured in our shop!?  Click here for details.

And once the wearin' o' the green is over and you are back to your workaday woes you'll wish you could prolong the fun so turn those leftovers into a Corned Beef Casserole!  The husband and the children will sing your praises once they get a taste of this!  I mean, it has cream of asparagus soup in it, for crying out loud.  Kids LOVE asparagus.  Right?

Maria really knew how to cut a rug.

Lovely vintage hand wrought orchid brooch with a gorgeous dark rainbow patina and faux pearl.  Would look beautiful on a hat, scarf or sweater.

DAILY SPECIAL - 25% OFF Mon 2/15 ONLY :: Vintage Alpaca Mexico Abalone Brooch Pin Pendant

This interesting brooch with a bail to use as a pendant was made in Mexico features a Mexican pyramid with what looks like a flame and altar at the top. Gorgeous abalone chips are inlaid in the black enamel background all surrounded in a warm silver-colored metal called Alpaca. Alpaca is a non-silver alloy (zinc, nickel, iron). Sometimes it is silverplated, however I am not sure if this piece is or not. A lovely and versatile piece!

Check it out here in my shop!

Now offering vintage jewelry bits 'n bobs for your next project

I'm in the process of getting a bunch of supply items listed. These beads, findings, etc. have been salvaged from pieces of jewelry - mostly from 1950s-1970s. Great stuff that you just don't see everyday! The perfect way to turn something old into something new and wonderful!!
